Rebecca Ogden, University of Manchester

Rebecca Ogden is a second year PhD candidate in Latin American cultural studies at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on sexualised tourism in contemporary Cuba, in particular the circulation of exotic and affective capitals, including discourses of love, race, gender and sex.

Rebecca has assisted Dr. Encarnacíon Rodríguez Gutiérrez in her work on the RICC research project ‘Diasporic Pathways for Aspiring Cosmopolitan Cities’, exploring the way Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American migrants participate in creating Manchester’s urban life and experiences. They have also worked together in developing the Feminisation of Labour Research Network.
